Carpentry that fits the space. And the life inside it.

Every millimetre is a decision.

Modular does not mean generic. It means designed to a system — built to a set of dimensions that ensures components fit together precisely and can be executed reliably by skilled craftspeople. At Bowerscapes, we design modular joinery systems that are built to module logic but specified entirely to your space, your objects, and your daily life.

The difference between modular carpentry done well and poorly is specification. A kitchen designed to fit the way you actually cook — with a dedicated drawer for the utensils you use every morning, a shelf at exactly the right height for the appliances you use every week, a cabinet that holds your specific collection of vessels without wasted space — feels categorically different from one bought off a catalogue and fitted into the room.

We design modular kitchens, wardrobes, storage walls, study units, and bathroom vanities for apartments and villas across Bangalore. The process begins with an inventory: what do you actually own, what do you actually use, and where in the room do you use it? From that inventory, we design joinery that has a place for everything — which means there is never a surface that becomes a dumping ground because the storage isn’t right.

We work with trusted carpentry workshops in Bangalore who understand our standards and our level of finish detail. We provide complete drawings — elevation, section, hardware specification — so that execution requires no interpretation and produces no surprises. Our carpentry work is always designed in the context of the broader interior; it does not look like joinery that was decided separately and placed into a room, because it wasn’t.

Modular carpentry is most effective when it is considered early in the project, before walls are finalised and electrical points are fixed. If you are at the planning stage of a renovation in Bangalore — or designing a new home from scratch — this is the right time to bring us in. How We Work

From measurement to installation — how modular carpentry is designed and built.

01 — Space & Function Brief

Every carpentry project begins with an understanding of how the space will actually be used. For a wardrobe: how much hanging space, how many shelves, whether accessories need dedicated storage, whether there will be a full-length mirror and on which wall. For a kitchen: workflow habits, appliance positions, the balance of drawer versus door storage. We design storage that solves the real problem — not storage that simply fills the available wall.

02 — Measured Survey & Technical Drawing

We take precise measurements of every wall, ceiling height, floor level variation, and architectural feature that the carpentry must accommodate. We produce detailed technical drawings: plan, elevation, section, and joinery details at scale. These drawings are what the factory works from — accurate drawings prevent the majority of on-site fitting problems.

03 — Material & Hardware Selection

We specify the board material, veneer or paint finish, hardware (hinges, channels, handles), and any accent materials (glass inserts, cane, leather) in coordination with the overall interior palette. We do not use default hardware — handles and channels are selected for their quality and their relationship to the character of the piece.

04 — Factory Production

We work with established modular carpentry factories in Bangalore who produce to our drawings. Factory production typically takes four to eight weeks from approved drawings. We review a sample of the finish material and hardware before full production begins. Any deviation from our drawings is identified and corrected at factory stage, not after the units arrive on site.

05 — Site Preparation & Installation

We coordinate site preparation — wall preparation, electrical points, and floor levelling — before the carpentry units arrive. We supervise installation to ensure units are level, gaps are consistent, and doors and drawers operate correctly before completion. We do not sign off an installation with sticking drawers, uneven gaps, or finish damage.

06 — Snagging & Handover

We conduct a formal snagging review and ensure all items are resolved before handover. You receive care notes for the specific materials and finishes used. Modular carpentry, correctly maintained, will last for decades without needing replacement.

Questions

What people ask about modular carpentry design in Bangalore.

What is the difference between modular and custom furniture?

Modular furniture uses standard dimensions, factory-manufactured carcasses, and a defined range of finishes and hardware — assembled on site from components made in a factory. Custom furniture is designed from scratch to a specific brief, made by a craftsperson to order, and has no dimensional or design constraints beyond the material and the maker's skill. Modular is faster, more cost-effective, and entirely appropriate for most storage applications. Custom is reserved for pieces where the design intention cannot be achieved within standard dimensions or materials.

How long does modular carpentry take from design approval to installation?

Factory production typically takes four to eight weeks after drawings are approved and materials are confirmed. On-site installation takes two to five days depending on the volume of work. We build this timeline into the overall project programme so carpentry is ready when the space is prepared for it — not before, which means storage problems, or after, which means delays to the rest of the project.

What finish options are available for modular carpentry?

We work with high-pressure laminate (HPL), acrylic, veneer, and lacquer finishes. Each has different durability, appearance, and cost characteristics. We specify the finish based on the location and use of the piece — kitchen cabinets have different requirements from a bedroom wardrobe — and on how the finish will sit within the broader material palette of the space. We present physical samples of shortlisted finishes in the actual space before final selection.

Storage that disappears. Joinery that lasts.
