Our Philosophy
The bowerbird does not build to survive. It builds to be chosen. It collects, arranges, and curates — and then it waits, confident that something made with that much attention will be recognised.
We built this studio around that idea. Bowerscapes is a boutique interior design and landscape design practice in Bangalore, working across residential and selective hospitality environments. We are not a large studio. We choose to stay small because good design requires presence, and presence cannot be divided too many ways.
Every project we take on gets our full attention from the first conversation to the final walkthrough. We ask questions that most design studios skip. We make decisions based on how a space will be lived in — not how it will photograph. We visit. We listen. We stay involved through every phase of a project until the space is genuinely finished.
Our clients come to us from across Bangalore — from Indiranagar and Koramangala, from Whitefield and Sadashivanagar, from Jayanagar and HSR Layout. Interior design and landscape design are treated as one discipline at Bowerscapes, not two separate services. A home that is beautifully designed inside and poorly considered outside is an incomplete home. A garden that thrives in January and suffers in the monsoon has not been designed for Bangalore — it has been decorated for a photograph. We design for the full year, for the full life of the space, and for the people who will use it every day.
We work with a select number of clients each year — not because we are exclusive by policy, but because every space we work on deserves our full attention. We are present at site visits, in material conversations, at the moments where a single decision shapes the whole.

Some projects are grand in scale. Others are quiet interventions: a terrace transformed into a green room, an apartment that finally breathes, a courtyard that becomes the heart of the home. Scale does not determine the care we bring. The brief does.
Bangalore has a design culture that is still finding its own voice — somewhere between the old bungalow neighbourhoods that shaped its character and the new residential developments reshaping its skyline. We are interested in that tension. The best residential design in Bangalore today is neither slavishly traditional nor self-consciously modern. It is grounded in how people here actually live: outdoor-oriented when the weather allows, climate-aware when it doesn’t, deeply particular about materials and craft, and increasingly uninterested in design that could belong anywhere.
