INTERIOR DESIGN · MATERIAL SELECTION
Materials that make a space
feel considered.
We select materials for how they look, feel, age and work together — creating interiors that become more beautiful with time.
THE MATERIAL LANGUAGE
A room is made from more than furniture.
Stone, timber, tile, paint, metal, glass and textiles all contribute to how a space feels.
We bring these elements together into a coherent palette — balancing tone, texture, reflection, warmth and durability.
01
TONE
Colours that belong together.
02
TEXTURE
A balance of smooth, rough, soft and tactile surfaces.
03
LIGHT
Materials selected for how they respond to natural and artificial light.
04
LONGEVITY
Materials chosen to work beautifully in real homes over time.
The palette comes before the room.
Before individual finishes are approved, we build a material language for the home — seeing the materials together rather than one sample at a time.

The right material is about
more than price.
A beautiful material is only the right material if it works in the space.
CLIMATE
How Bangalore’s heat, humidity, monsoon and dust affect materials.
USE
How the household actually lives with the space — traffic, children, cooking, moisture and maintenance.
AGE
How a material will look and perform years after installation.
GOOD MATERIAL SELECTION IS NOT ABOUT CHOOSING THE MOST EXPENSIVE OPTION.
IT IS ABOUT CHOOSING THE RIGHT ONE.
Beautiful materials should work in real life.
We judge materials in context — against the architecture, natural light and the way the space will actually be used.

HOW IT WORKS
From first sample to final specification.
01
INVENTORY
We identify what stays and what still needs to be specified.
02
PALETTE
We build a complete material language across the home.
03
TEST
Samples and mock-ups are assessed in the actual space and light.
04
SPECIFY
Confirmed materials are documented, sourced and checked during installation.
Material selection can be part of a complete Bowerscapes interior project or commissioned as a standalone service.
The materials you choose
will outlive the trends.
Choose them with intention.
A FEW QUESTIONS
Before the palette is set.
How early should material selection begin?
Ideally, material selection starts alongside space planning — once layouts and lighting are being decided, not after. That way flooring, joinery and wall finishes are chosen as one coherent palette rather than fitted around decisions that have already been made.
Do you source materials or only specify them?
Both. We specify the material language for the home and, depending on scope, also source and coordinate procurement with vendors, fabricators and suppliers — checking samples, finishes and quality at each stage through to installation.
Can you match materials to an existing space?
Yes. When a project involves an existing home or a partial renovation, we work from what’s already there — matching, complementing or deliberately contrasting with existing flooring, joinery and finishes so the result feels intentional rather than patched together.
